Premium/ Fujinon XF100-400mm – Long-term review and best settings to use it

Over the last few years I bought several telephoto lenses for my Sony and Olympus cameras. So, with the current Fujifilm set there was no exception. It actually made me consider Fujifilm again. It sits between Sony and Olympus in my mind and with a proper telephoto lens I was convinced. So I purchased the Fujinon XF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR, together with the 1.4x tele converter. These type of lenses really let me pursue my passion in nature and wildlife photography. Especially wildlife photography that is becoming my favourite next to landscape photography. Just heading out in nature and enjoy the surroundings and wildlife is especially relaxing. I’ve had the privilege to be able to photograph different deer, fallow deer, red deer, birds, but also several foxes (which I absolutely love) and other types of animals. And now even Bald Eagles and Bears on Vancouver Island. So for me it is time to sum up the Fujinon XF lens. I’m not a avid reviewer just an enthusiastic user of Fujifilm gear. However I see fellow users having trouble or not getting the photos they want with this lens and to be honest it took me also months to really appreciate the lens. CONTINUE READING…
