I stayed true to Nikon SLR cameras for about 13 years, but the need to always have with me a good camera, that can satisfy my thirst of pictures, led me to find the perfect device!

It started with the Ricoh GRD III, then the Lumix LX7 and the Ricoh GR “APS-C” that I still use. The Fuji X70 tempts me a lot now!

But to replace my DSLR, and since I’ve always dreamed of a telemetric and 50mm Leica M camera, my choice fell on the X-E2 and XF35mm F1.4 … I sold almost all of my Nikon set for this camera and lens.

The choice of Fuji came naturally for the quality of the files that I saw on the pictures observed on Chasseur d’images forum and Flickr. The retro look and the compactness of the product also appeals to me.

The camera is beautiful, relatively inconspicuous, the lens is sharp and the potential of RAW files allows me to theatricalize my pictures. I admit, I like the post-treatment part.

I do not regret my choice, I like working with the XF 35mm F1.4, especially on cars, a subject that appeals to me! It allows me to work the details, to generate curiosity, wanting to know more on the subject. It forces me to approach and look for the right composition. Those pictures were made outside in meetings or expo, then post treated with Lightroom.

I do not really have some reproach to this X-E2, I do not compare it to a reflex, it is always in my bag ready to fire! Need a second battery to be safe.

I have many other things to work on, automotive, it is a love of youth, I wanted to be a designer… For me the world is full of countless beauties, I always see and think of pictures, even when I prepare a meal, it can slip on shots, always ready to capture what goes through my head!

Je suis resté fidèle au reflex Nikon pendant bien 13 années, mais le besoin d’avoir toujours sur moi un bon boîtier capable de satisfaire ma soif de photo m’a conduit a trouver l’appareil idéal!

Ça a commencé avec le Ricoh GRD III, puis le Lumix LX7 et le Ricoh GR “APS-C” que j’utilise encore, le Fuji X70 me fait de l’oeil à présent!

Mais pour remplacer mon reflex et vu que j’ai toujours rêvé d’un appareil télémetrique type Leica M et 50mm , mon choix s’est porté sur le X-E2 et son XF35mm F1.4… J’ai revendu la quasi totalité de mon parc nikon pour ce couple boîtier focale fixe.

Le choix du Fuji s’est fait naturellement pour la qualité des fichiers que j’ai pu constater sur le forum de chasseur d’images et sur Flickr, le look retro et la compacité du produit m’a aussi séduit.

Le boîtier est beau, assez discret, l’objectif est piquant, et le potentiel des fichiers Raw me permet de bien théâtraliser les photos , j’avoue, j’aime bien la partie post traitement.

Je ne regrette pas mon choix, j’aime travailler avec le 35mm XF f1,4, surtout sur les voitures, un sujet qui me plaît beaucoup! Il me permet de travailler sur les détails, de susciter la curiosité, d’avoir envie d’en savoir plus sur le sujet, il m’oblige a m’approcher et à chercher la bonne composition. Ces photos on été faites en extérieur lors de meetings ou d’expositions puis mises en ambiance sous lighroom.

Je n’ai pas vraiment de reproches à faire a ce boîtier, je ne le compare pas a un reflex, il est toujours dans ma besace prêt à faire feu ! Toujours une seconde batterie pour être tranquille.

J’ai beaucoup d’autres sujets de travail, l’automobile, c’est un amour de jeunesse, je voulais être designer… Pour moi le monde regorge d’innombrables beautés, je vois et je pense toujours photo, même quand je prépare un repas, ça peut déraper sur des prises de vues, toujours prêt à immortaliser ce qui me passe par la tête!
